DATELINE: Denton, NC EDITION: Monday, April 21, 2008 HEADING NAME: Edith Simmons Mrs. Edith Williams Bean Simmons, age 82 of Martin Farm Road, Denton, NC died Sunday, April 20 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 22 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Claudie Harrison, Rev. Tommy Tysinger and Rev. Tom McLean. Burial will follow at Summerville Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Simmons was born April 10, 1926 in Guilford County to Ralph T Williams and Erma Culler Williams. She was a retired employee of Lexington Furniture Industries Young-Hinkle Plant. She was married to Efird Bean who died October 27, 1974. She was also preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Price, a brother Bobby Williams and a son-in-law Eddie Hulin. Mrs. Simmons is survived by a son, Bruce Bean of Denton; daughters Carolyn Hulin of Denton and Susan Church and husband Robert of Lexington. A sister Helen Williams of High Point, six (6) grandchildren, two (2) step grandchildren, eight (8) great grandchildren and three (3) step great grandchildren. The family will see friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Martin Farm Road.
