Edith Marie Broadway Myers, 90, of NC Hwy 8, Denton, died Friday, August 1, 2025 at her residence. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Summerville Baptist Church, with Rev. Thomas Frizzell and Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Springs Global Methodist Church Cemetery.
Born in Stanly County on December 25, 1934, she was the daughter of Willie Lee Broadway and Exie Lucille Holshouser Dennis. She was employed with Burlington Industries for many years. She was a member of Summerville Baptist Church, participated in The Meals on Wheels program for over 25 years, member of the Lion’s Club, went to Camp Dogwood and Outer Banks Fishing Tournaments, and was active in the Davidson County Senior Games. She was a proud graduate of Lexington High School, class of 1953. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen G. Myers; daughter, Cynthia Myers; Sister, Ethel Ivey; and a brother, Spurgil Jones.
Mrs. Myers is survived by her son, Lee Allen Myers (Kathy) of China Grove; 2 daughters, Connie M. Burchette (Bryan) of Denton and Tina M. Lanier (James) of Denton; 2 brothers, Kyle Jones and Jimmy Jones, both of Lexington; sister, Vanessa Mitchell of Lexington; 7 grandchildren, David Myers (Courtney), Daniel Myers (Megan), Katherine Parrish (Elizabeth), Samuel Bailey, Tiffany Burleson (Josh), Aaron Comer (Kendall), and Wesley Comer (Haley); 18 Great-grandchildren; 1 Great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
