Earnest Parker

Mr. Earnest Gordon Parker, age 93, of Old Hwy. 109, Lexington died Wednesday, June 2 at Hinkle Hospice House following an extended illness. Funeral service for Mr. Parker will be 2:00 PM Sunday, June 6 at Fairview United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot of the church cemetery. Mr. Parker was born October 7, 1916 in Wilkes County to George Quincy and Nobie Hubbard Parker. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and a member of Denton Lodge # 404 AF & AM. During his working years he was employed in textile manufacturing. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife Mary Noble Harris Parker of the home, son David Anthony (Tony) Parker and wife Nan Jean Johnson Parker of Denton, one brother Kenneth Parker of Burlington, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The body will lie in state at the Church one hour prior to the service and the family will receive friends in the Church Fellowship Hall following the service with refreshments being served.
