Earl Latham

Earl Latham, aged 92, of Farmer Rd., Denton, NC, departed this life on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. Born in Randolph County on May 26, 1933, Mr. Latham was the beloved son of E. Ray Latham and Georgia Hill Latham. He will be dearly remembered for his contributions to his community and family.

A dedicated member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Earl took great pride in his faith and the values it instilled in him. His career as a truck driver for Georgia Pacific in Asheboro was marked by a strong work ethic and commitment to his profession, earning him the respect of his colleagues and peers.

Earl's family legacy lives on through his surviving relatives. He is survived by his sons Neal Latham of Denton and Steve Latham and Betty of Asheboro. Additionally, he leaves behind his brother Howard Latham and his wife Carolyn of Denton; and sister-in-law, Jenny Latham. Earl was a proud grandfather to Amy Thompson and her husband Ransom, Adam Latham, and Amanda Whitaker and her husband Drew, as well as cherished great-grandfather to Alaina Thompson, Ashton Thompson, Aleyah Latham, and Eva Whitaker.

Earl was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kay Martin Latham and his brother Charles Elton Latham, along with his parents, E. Ray Latham and Georgia Hill Latham. The memories of Earl will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at Briggs Funeral Home on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Neal Latham officiating. At other times the family will be gathering at the home of Neal Latham. Friends and family are invited to share in the remembrance of Earl Latham, an individual who touched many lives with his kindness and strength.
