Dwayne Smith

Mr. Grady Dwayne Smith, 49, a resident of Lexington Healthcare and formerly of Tom’s Creek Church Rd., Denton died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, Feb. 28 at Summerville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tom McLean and Rev. Flynn Richardson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Smith was born May 29, 1960 in DeKalb County, Georgia to Grady Colon Smith and Glessie Thompson Smith. He attended Randolph Technical College where he studied welding, and worked for the former Bost Bakery in Thomasville. He was a very active and devoted member of Summerville Baptist Church. Dwayne was preceded in death by his father on July 23, 1982 and his sister Brenda Louise Smith on September 25, 2009. Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Glessie Thompson Smith of the home. The family will see friends on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Tom’s Creek Church Rd. The family would like to express their gratitude to Lexington Healthcare and staff for the wonderful care given to both Dwayne and Brenda.
