Mr. James Boyd “Duck” Cockman, age 75 of Cid Road, Lexington, NC died Thursday, October 26 at High Point Regional Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, October 29 at Jackson Creek Baptist Church conducted by the Revs. Billy Joe Yates and Jeff Mabe. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 pm Sunday at the church prior to the service and other times at the home. Mr. Cockman was born May 16, 1942 in South Boston, VA to Clyde Cockman and Ethel Coble Cockman. He was a member of Jackson Creek Baptist Church and had worked in the heating and air conditioner industry. His brother, Clyde “Butch” Cockman, Jr. and his sister, Bonna Brewer, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Grubb Cockman of the home; son, Michael Cockman and wife Bridgette of Lexington; daughters Kathy Poole and husband Larry, of Asheboro, Rebecca Alexander of Lexington, Amy Hayes and husband Sam, of Lexington; ten grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
