Douglas Edwin Wedding

Mr. Douglas Edwin Wedding, 81, of Flat Swamp Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Hinkle Hospice House.

Mr. Wedding was born in Montgomery County on May 5, 1943, the son of Wilmer Wedding and Bell Sessoms Wedding. He was of the Methodist faith and had served in the United States Navy. After completing his law enforcement education Mr. Wedding worked as an officer with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and later he went to work for the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department where he would retire as Captain in 1996. Mr. Wedding was a member of the NRA and enjoyed watching westerns.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Greg Wedding and his brother, Gene Wedding.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Violet Wright Wedding of the home and a stepson, Charles Evertte.
