Douglas Lanier

Mr. Douglas Franklin Lanier, 64, a resident of Surratt Rd., Denton passed away on Friday, January 05, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 7 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at Briggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm Sunday in Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Claudie Harrison presiding. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Mr. Lanier was born February 8, 1953 in Randolph County to Jesse Lanier and Nora Vernell Ball Lanier. He was a graduate of Denton High School and of the Methodist Faith. He had been employed as a security guard at Thomasville Medical Center until his retirement. Preceding him in death was his father, Jesse Lanier. He is survived by his mother, Nora B. Lanier of Denton; sister, LuAnn Lanier Gallimore and husband Randy of Denton; niece, Jessica Skeen and husband Nathan of Denton; great-nephew, Evan Skeen.
