Doug Surratt

Herman Douglas Surratt, 61, Daniel Street, Denton died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Claudie Harrison, Rev. Gerald Ward, Rev. Steve McLain, and Rev. Johnny Gobble officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Surratt was born May 8, 1946 in Davidson County to Herman W. Surratt and Martha Pauline Cranford Surratt. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Denton. He worked as a Nailer for Terrell Brothers Mfg.. He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Gail Surratt. Survivors include; wife; Joyce Garner Surratt and son; Christopher Douglas Surratt both of the home, brother; Larry Michael Surratt of Trinity, and sister; Bonnie Fritz of Lexington. The family will see friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
