Mrs. Dorothy “Dottie” McKeel Roberson, 89, a resident of Panther Point Rd., Richfield passed away on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13, 2018 at her residence.
A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 19 at Central United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Richard Blount and Rev. Benny Clodfelter. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 am Saturday prior to the service in the Central United Methodist Memorial Hut.
“Dottie” was born January 1, 1929 in Bethel, NC to Virgil McKeel and Elizabeth Allen McKeel. She attended East Carolina College and graduated from Emanuel College in Georgia. She spent 17 years as an Air Force Wife. She had been employed with US Army, Guliford County District Court, High Point Elks Lodge. “Dottie” enjoyed spending time cooking; traveling; playing bridge; working in her greenhouse and with her friends at the “Point”. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son, John Roberson.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Edwin “Ed” Roberson of the home; sons, Edwin Roberson, Jr. and David Roberson and wife Rhonda; daughter, Kathy Ashley and husband Bob; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
