Dot Shaw

Mrs. Dorothy Smoake (Dot) Shaw, age 81 of Cap Ingram Road, Lexington, NC died Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 27 at Floyd Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Charles Dickens and Rev. Tommy Floyd. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, Feb. 26 at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence. Mrs. Shaw was born May 13, 1928 in Randolph County to Peter Isaac Smoake and Lillie Hinshaw Smoake. She was a homemaker, attended Floyd Baptist Church and was married to Jesse Wade Shaw who died December 2002. She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Shaw Mrs. Shaw is survived by sons, Ollie Shaw and Tony Shaw both of Lexington, Danny Shaw and wife Ava, of Denton, and Frank Shaw and wife Estelle of Thomasville; by a daughter Kathy S. Williams of Lexington; by a sister Margie Hunter of Luggoff, SC; and by 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
