Dorothy Carscaddon Small, 88, of Jim Pierce Rd., Trinity died Friday, Jan. 15 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday at High Rock Baptist Church (Randolph County) conducted by Rev. Ray Swaney and Rev. Darrell Summey. Interment will follow Pierce’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Small was born April 24, 1921 in Rowan County to William Alonzo Carscaddon and Mary Florence Robbinson Carscaddon. She attended High Rock Baptist Church and worked in textiles. Preceding her in death was her husband Fred Small on August 30, 2004. Survivors include, son; Robert (Buddy) Small and wife (Donna) of Denton, daughter; Linda Vuncannon of Asheboro, brother; William R. “Bill” Carscaddon of Salisbury, sisters; Ruby Kluttz of Salisbury and Ruth McDermott of Milford, OH, grandchildren; (4) Kevin Vuncannon, Crystal Purswell, Jenny Jensen, and Cheryl Key, great grandchildren; (4) Kristen Jensen, Riley Key, Gavin Key, and Ashton Purswell, step great grandchildren; (2) Daniel and Steven Jensen. The family will see friends on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 Pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Jim Pierce Rd.
