Dorothy “Dot” Juanita Loflin Hill, 91, formerly of NC HWY 8, Denton, NC passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Mountain Vista Health Park.
A funeral service will be held 2 :00 PM on Saturday, February 25 at Summerville Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Frizzell officiating. Interment will follow at Taylor’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
Dot was born June 22, 1931, in Davidson County to Eli Bradley Loflin and Virginia Fine Loflin. Prior to a decline in health, she had been active member of Alleghany United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. Dot had worked for Mountain Vista Health Park as a Certified Nursing Assistant, where she started the story time project.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Marvin Hill; a son, William Calvin Hill; brothers, Wesley Loflin, Clarence Loflin, and Milton Douglas Loflin; sisters, Marlene Efird and Carlene Varner.
She is survived by son, Marvin David Hill and wife Tracey of Asheboro; daughters, Ruth Hill Smith and husband David of Denton and Carolyn Hutton and husband Rod of Madbury, New Hampshire; brothers, Bill Loflin of Asheboro, Joseph Loflin, Robert Loflin both of New London; sister, Evangeline Crisco of Locust; grandchildren, Justin, Julie, Jenna, Olivia, Roderic, Jr., Wesley, and Rosalind; great-grandchildren, Ryker, George, McKenna, Porter, Sebastian, and Penelope.
