Doris Dixon Morgan

Ms. Doris Dixon Morgan age 84, formerly of Currie Rd. Candor passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living in Candor. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Macedonia Presbyterian Church with Rev. Matthew Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Saturday prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Mary Morgan, 1179 Currie Rd., Candor. Doris was born in Montgomery County on December 1, 1932 to William Lacy and Mary Alice Freeman Dixon. She had worked at Lynn –Dean Fashions in Biscoe. She was a very active member of Macedonia Presbyterian Church where she worked in the clothes closet, was a member of the choir, made valentines cake, and church historian. Doris was a wonderful mother, friend, and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Wade Hampton Morgan, Jr. and granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Lewis. Surviving are daughters, Rebecca Lewis (Billy) of Eldorado Community, and Mary Morgan of Candor; sons, Donald Morgan (Patsy) of Durham, Gerald Morgan (Susan) of Matthews, and Samuel Morgan (Melonie) of Candor; 9 grandchildren, Laura Wilkins (C.C.), Nancy Bean (Brett), Amy McLawhorne (Shane), Stephanie Lewis, Andrew Morgan, Emily Gidcumb (Shaun), Seth Morgan, Maryanne Morgan, Nathaniel Morgan; and 2 great-grandchildren, Mason and Colton.
