Doris Cole Cottrell Beckom

Doris Cole Cottrell Beckom, 91, of Cole Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 29 at Lick Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Steve Kiger and Rev. Hulon Pait. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence on Cole Rd.

Doris was born on November 24, 1929 in Davidson County to William Isaac Cole and Bessie Taylor Cole. She was retired from Counill Craftsman Furniture and was a member of Lick Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman Lee Beckom and a sister, Sadie Thompson.

She is survived by sons, Taylor Cottrell and wife Kathy and Ernest Cottrell and wife Donna; daughters, Clara Pate and husband Steve, Kathy Coggins and husband Troy, and Bessie Hedrick and husband Lester all of Denton; 7 grandchildren, Ernie Cottrell (Tammy), Toby Cottrell (Mandy), John Pate (Crystal), Daniel Pate (Megan), Taylor Younts (Chippy), Emily Hedrick (Austin), and Davis Coggins; 8 great-grandchildren, Amber Cottrell, Camryn Cottrell, Caiden Cottrell, Austin Edwards, Jaxson Pate, Chippy Younts III, Cora Mae Younts, and Spencer Pate.
