Donnie Hardister

Donnie Junior Hardister, 72, of Sandalwood Dr., Denton, NC passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 24, at New Hope Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Gray and Rev. Michael Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Donnie was born on September 3, 1951, in Davidson County, the son of Elsie Hardister and Colene Lanier Hardister. He was a member of the last graduating class at Farmer High School and was of the Methodist faith. Donnie was the owner/operator of Hardister Logging. He loved being outdoors and bear hunting. He was preceded in death by his mother, Colene Hardister.

He is survived by sons, Jason Hardister and Jeremiah Hardister both of Denton; his father, Elsie Hardister of Denton; brothers, Timothy, and Danny Hardister both of Denton; 2 grandchildren, Ashton Hardister and Cheslie Hardister; 1 great-granddaughter, Oaklynn Hardister.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. At other times they will be meeting at the home of Jason Hardister on Lanier Hill Rd., Denton
