Donald Howell Sneed, Sr., 82, of Morgan Rd., Candor, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Sneed officiating. Burial will follow in the Baldwin Cemetery, Norman. Mr. Sneed was born March 26, 1931 in Montgomery County, the son of Daniel Archie and Ethel Lee Baldwin Sneed. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Little River UMC. He was a Truck Driver with Roadway Express. He is survived by his wife, Maria D. Sneed of the home; 4 sons, Donald Sneed Jr. of Missouri, Kenneth Lee Sneed of Pekin, Samuel Neal Sneed of Troy and Stanly Thompson Sneed of Candor; a sister, Dorothy Newton of Sanford; a brother, William B. Sneed of Candor; 8 Grandchildren; 3 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence on Morgan Rd.
