Donald Hugh Ramsey

Mr. Donald Hugh Ramsey, 69, a resident of Denton, NC passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, Jan. 30 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Randy Stewart and Rev. Joe Bean. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. For those in attendance facial coverings will be required as well as observing social distancing.

Mr. Ramsey will lie in state on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.

Donald was born August 21, 1951 in Asheville, NC to the late Kenneth Ramsey and Ruby Lucille Hughes Ramsey. He was employed by Baptist Children’s Home of North Carolina as a maintenance supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Garner Ramsey of the home; son, Tony Ramsey (Melba) of Denton; daughter, Sherry Sprinkle (Darren) of Thomasville; brothers, Randy Ramsey, Reggie Ramsey (Lois), and Gary Ramsey all of Thomasville; sisters, Ruth Ramsey and Nancy Clark (Nelson) all of Thomasville; 4 grandchildren, Zachary Sprinkle, Zoey Sprinkle, Blake Ramsey (Michelle), and Danielle Ramsey (Stephanie); 1 great-grandson, Drayton Ramsey.
