Donald Ray Griffin, aged 89, passed away on January 29, 2025, at Lexington Health Care. Born on December 15, 1935, in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the son of the late Roy A. Griffin and Regenia Meadows Griffin. Donald was a beloved father, brother, and grandfather, known for his storytelling, practical jokes, and love for drawing and country music. He was a dedicated fan of Dale Earnhardt.
Donald worked as a spot welder at Thermo Pride until his retirement and was a cherished member of the High Rock Cowboy Church in Denton. He is survived by his daughters, Ginger Wise of Valdese and Donna Griffin of Huntersville; his goddaughter, Mandy English and her husband David of Thomasville; his brother, Roy L. Griffin of Kannapolis; his grandchildren, Daire Anthony and her husband Rob, Blake Scott and his wife Jenna, Jake English, and Nick English; and his great-grandchildren, Langston, Eloise, and Orianthi.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Magnolia Cemetery in Hartsville, SC. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.briggsfuneralhome.com.
