Mr. Don Branson Morris, age 78 of North Main Street, Denton, NC died Sunday, April 29 at Thomasville Medical Center. A Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 2 at Central United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Benny Clodfelter. Burial with military rites will follow in the Denton Town Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence on North Main Street. Mr. Morris was born November 3, 1933 in Davidson County to Baxter L. Morris and Grace Hill Morris. He was the former owner/operator of the Western Auto Store of Denton, and Mel-Mark Furniture Store. He had also owned and operated Morris Mini Mart # 1 & 2. He was currently employed with Kountry Korner Hardware. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Denton Lions Club. He was a veteran of the U S Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and by brothers, Roy Morris, Wayne Morris and Joe Morris. He is survived by his wife Shirley Morris of the home; a son Mark Morris and wife Heather of Lexington; a daughter Melody Allen and husband David of Denton; step-sons, Bob Jones, Doug Jones and Dean Jones all of Prince George, Virginia; a step-daughter Michelle Henderson of Prince George, Virginia; sisters, Edna Davis and husband J.T. of Denton, Waylene Badgett, and Doris Bullock and husband Claude all of Greensboro. grandchildren, Andrew Joseph Allen and Marleigh Morris; 7 step-grandchildren and 3 step- great grandchildren.
