Diza Morris

June 12, 1934 — August 17, 2019

Ms. Diza Rogers Morris, 85, formerly of Broad St. Denton, NC passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Hinkle Hospice House.

A celebration of life service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 21 at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Blount and Rev. Benny Clodfelter officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service in the Central United Methodist Church Fellowship Hut.

Diza was born June 12, 1934 in Franklin County. She was a graduate of Ashmore Business College. She had worked as a bookkeeper for GHS Corporation and prior to that she worked for Denton Tire and Appliance and Harvest House Furniture. Diza was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she had served as Secretary, a choir member, and was active with CUMC Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roby Branson Morris and her mother, Bertha Privette Rogers, and by her siblings and friends from the Junior Order Home.

Survivors include son, Walter Michael “Mike” Morris and wife Donna of Denton; daughter, Denese Morris O’Hara and husband Patrick of Asheboro; 4 grandchildren, Branson Patrick O’Hara, Ryan Jacob O’Hara, Miranda Kathleen Morris, and Levi Michael Morris.

Briggs Funeral Home in Denton is serving the Morris family.
