Dennis Junior Wood, 63, of James Lovette Rd., Denton, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 at Southside Baptist Church with Dr. Joey Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Born on May 29, 1947, he was the son of Barney Roscoe and Myrtle Durham Wood. He had worked in a sawmill and was a member of Southside Baptist Church He is survived by his wife, Ruby Lovette Wood of the home; 3 daughters, Carolyn Wood, Luvenia Partin and Tonya Harding, all of Lexington; a brother, J.D. Wood of Southmont; 4 sisters, Peggy Cartrette, Gloria Holbrook, Nancy Shipton and Nora Everhart, all of Lexington; 3 Grandchildren; 1 Great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on James Lovette Rd.
