Delphia Goins Rouse, 90, formerly of Campbell Dr., Candor, NC went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 13, 2021.
Due to a family emergency, the Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Date and time of the service will be posted here for the convenience of the family. Thank you for your understanding.
Delphia was born March 19, 1930, in Surry County, NC to Samuel Goins and Lou Reynolds Goins. Mrs. Rouse attended Palmer Baptist Church in West End, NC until she had a decline in health. She had worked many years in the textile industry. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by brothers, Grover, Junior, and Gary Goins; and her sister, Marie Goins Britt.
Mrs. Rouse was a beloved and loving mother. She spent most of her life as a talented seamstress and homemaker. She loved to garden and loved her flowers, more importantly, she was a devoted Child of God. There was nothing pretentious about her. She was certainly a “Southern Lady”, a lady that loved living in a “Simpler place and time”.
Mrs. Rouse loved her brothers and sisters. She was just “Granny” to all of her beloved nieces and nephews as well. On Sundays, she would cook a spread and welcome everyone to eat at “Her table”, and they certainly did!
Mrs. Rouse loved her wonderful “Caregiver”, Belinda Smith. The word caregiver does not seem appropriate, she was simply so much more than that, she was a dear friend. Belinda’s grandson, Kason, brought so much light and joy into Mrs. Rouse’ life. “We truly walk among Angels”.
Lastly, but most importantly, Mrs. Rouse loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She always “Rested in the knowing” that Gods love for her was ever present. She is now in His loving arms, seeing what eyes have not seen and ears have not heard, she has seen the face of the One who loved her most!
Mrs. Rouse leaves behind not a legacy of money or material things, those were not important to her, but rather a “Legacy of her love for others and a legacy of her everlasting faith”.
Those who know her were blessed! Her family was blessed to have had her for ninety years. “She is now saving us all a place at the table”.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Parsons and Linda Cagle both of Jackson Springs; brothers, Bobby Goins of Denton and Larry Goins of Rockingham; 5 grandchildren, Brian Campbell, Keith Campbell, Angela Goldberg, Bobbie Sue Norris, and Brooke Thompson; 5 great-grandchildren, Seth Norris, Annie Norris, Ana Goldberg, Zachary Goldberg, and Selah Campbell.
Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. "Her heart was for the children".
Briggs Candor Funeral Home is serving the Rouse family.
