Dean Maines

Mr. Dean Lewis Maines, 89, of Hannersville Rd., Lexington passed away on Tuesday, October 09, 2018 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, Oct. 11 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Randolph County with Rev. Brad Treece officiating.

The family will greet friends following the graveside service.

Mr. Maines was born March 22, 1929 in Alleghany County to Solomon Maines and Velia McGrady Maines. He was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church. Mr. Maines was a carpenter and had worked for Sapona Country Club and retired from Caraway Furniture. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Miller Maines.

Dean had a passion for music and loved to play the fiddle he also enjoyed building model airplanes.

He is survived by son, Tim Maines of Lexington and sister, Sylvia Trotter of Sparta.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Piney Grove United Methodist Church in c/o Crowson Hunt 115 Pleasant Dr. Thomasville, NC 27360.
