Mr. David Leon Walker, age 75 of Denton died Saturday, October 16 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Derald Smith. Burial will follow at Clear Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. In accordance with Covid-19 regulations face coverings will be required.
David was born August 30, 1946 in Davidson County the son of, Isaac Daniel Walker and Alice Garner Walker. He attended Denton High School as member of the class of 1964 and he was of the Christian faith. David owned his own upholstery and trucking businesses. Some of David’s favorite hobbies included spending time with beloved family, listening to bluegrass music, and restoring antique cars. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Dan Walker, Larry Walker, and Kenneth Walker; sisters, Linda Coble, Pauline Coltrane, Kathleen Garner, and Joann Bean.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Hardister Walker of the home; son, Daniel Walker (Ashley and son, Noah); Christy Simpson (Chris) of Matthews; sisters, Imogene Morris and Hazel Garner both of Denton; grandchildren, Mya Simpson and Tyler Simpson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
