Mr. David S. Gallimore, age 94, of Frank Rd., Denton died Monday, March 8 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Friday, March 12 at New Jerusalem United Church of Christ with Rev. Butch Conrad and Mr. Scott Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Mr. Gallimore was born November 2, 1915 in Davidson County to John Walter and Eula Elizabeth Hedrick Gallimore. He was a lifelong farmer and had worked for 30 years at Cummingham Brick Co. He was a very active member of New Jerusalem United Church of Christ where he had 42 years of perfect attendance. He loved his church. One of his favorite hobbies was woodworking, making numerous cedar chests among other wood items with which he blessed his family and friends. He was preceded in death by brothers, Carl and Albert Gallimore, sisters, Zelma Adams and Nona McDuffie and son-in-law Graham Davis who died January 15, 2010. Mr. Gallimore is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois Veigh Beck Gallimore of the home, daughters, Linda Davis of Denton and Wanda Swanner and husband Lonnie of Albemarle, brother, Everet Gallimore of Greensboro and wife Clara and sister Pauline Floyd of Denton. He is also survived by grandchildren, Scott Davis and wife Beth, Jennifer Coble and husband Jason and Alicia Landis and husband Danny and great-grandchildren, Rachel, Tanner, Emma Grace, Kasey and Lily.
