Mr. Darnell Tysinger, 89, of Old Hwy 109, Lexington, NC passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Hinkle Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Cid United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery
Mr. Tysinger was born January 23, 1933, in Davidson County to Mozelle Tysinger and Etta Belle Hedrick Tysinger. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict and later joined the Army Reserves. He owned and operated his own sawmill. Darnell was an active member of Cid United Methodist Church serving on the cemetery committee and the administration board, a member of the Adult Sunday School Class and a member of Methodist Men.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by sisters, Juanita Snider, Mildred Leonard and Marie Moretz; brothers, Bucky Tysinger, Pete Tysinger, and Henry Tysinger; and by Joyce Beck to whom Darnell was a wonderful brother-in-law.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene Beck Tysinger of the home; daughters, Melanie Burgess and husband Don and Lori Ball and husband David all of Lexington; brothers, Carroll Tysinger of Welcome and Ronnie Tysinger of Fries, VA; sister, Judy Motes of Lexington; grandson, Nathan Ball and wife Alysha; great-grandchildren, Riley, Kadence, Corbin, Declan, Hannah, Keely, and Ryan; and brother-in-law, Calvin Leonard.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
