Daniel Allen Talley Sr., of Eagle Springs, NC, formerly of High Point, NC, avid fisherman and hunter, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, went on to his heavenly life Sunday morning, February 17, 2008 Prior to his retirement, Daniel worked at Thayer Coggins as an upholsterer for over thirty years, and he also ran Dan’s Upholstery. Many weekends he spent on the lakes of North Carolina, his favorite lake, Buggs Island. Badin Lake also lost many fish to Dan. He raised his kids with a love of nature, and the lakes of North Carolina. He leaves behind his four children: David, and Linda Talley, Daniel Jr., and Joann Talley; Sandy, and Joseph Talley; and S. Joan Talley; grandchildren, Ginger and Barry Hopper, Amanda and Shaun McNelis; Shannon and Connie Talley; Wayne and Brandy Talley; Michele and Lonnie Broome; Robert Talley; Grace Talley; and was predeceased by his granddaughter, Taylor Elizabeth Idol. Great grandchildren: Ashton Hopper; Chase McNelis; Kayla, and Devon Talley; Ty, and Madden Talley; and Madison Broome. He also leaves behind his lifelong friends and fishing buddies, Bobby Hiatt, and Frank Meyers. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the members of Eagle Springs Baptist Church for their unending love and support of Daniel during his battle with cancer. We would also like to acknowledge the extraordinary loving care provided by Donna Lumpkin, his dedicated hospice nurse from First Health, and from Don Talley, Daniels brother, with his dedication as our father’s primary care giver. A memorial service will be held at Eagle Springs Baptist Church, Eagle Springs, on Saturday, February 23rd, beginning at 2:00pm.
