Daniel Archie Sneed

Daniel Archie “Buddy” Sneed, Jr., age 81, or Norman, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Duke Meadowland Hospice House in Durham. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, October 25 in the chapel of Briggs-Candor Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Sykes and Rev. Donnie Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Baldwin Cemetery in Norman. Mr. Sneed was born September 7, 1928 in Montgomery County, a son of the late Daniel Archie and Ethel Lee Baldwin Sneed. He attended Little River United Methodist Church and Norman United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Peach Growers Association and the Teamsters Union. For many years he drove for Pilot Freight Lines and was also a peach farmer. Surviving are brothers, William B. Sneed and Donald Sneed, both of Candor and a sister Dorothy Newton of Sanford. The family will see friends from 2:00 to 2:45 pm Sunday, prior to the service, at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Creek Fire Department, 248, Godfrey Road, Ellerbe, NC 28338
