Daniel Richard Robinson

Daniel “Danny” Richard Robinson, 70, of Balsam Circle, Troy, died Saturday, August 10, 2019 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.  Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, August 15, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Troy, with Rev. Jeffrey Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in the Bruton Family Cemetery.   A beloved husband, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Danny was born July 30, 1949 in Cabarrus County, the son of W. Bernard and Maxine Capel Robinson.  Danny was a member of First Baptist Church of Troy, where he was a deacon, an usher, he served on the food pantry committee and various other church committees.  He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Civitan Club, serving as treasurer, a retired member of the Montgomery County Rescue Squad, where he served as treasurer.  He had worked at Russell Hosiery Mill, Clayson Knitting, Fidelity Bank and Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.  He was a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill.    He is survived by his wife, Dottie Bruton Robinson of the home; stepdaughter, Karen Pope Binns of Troy; stepson, Steve Pope of Hamlet; 2 sisters, Kay R. Tuggle (Bill) of Troy, and Virginia Nachand (Peter) of Rural Hall; 3 grandchildren, Derek Binns of Hickory, Damon Binns of Troy and Delaina Binns of Troy; 3 great-grandchildren, Audreyna Binns, Bryce Binns and Coltin Binns; several nieces and nephews.   The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Troy and other times at the home of Karen Binns, Bruton Dr., Candor NC   Danny will always hold a special place in our hearts.   Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
