Dallie Floyd Davis

Mrs. Dallie Mae Floyd Davis, age 83 of Cap Ingram Road, Lexington died Monday, March 10 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem following several years declining health. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, March 13 at Floyd Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Dickens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Davis was born November 11, 1924 in Davidson County to Alson and Maggie Hedrick Floyd. She was a 1942 graduate of Southmont High School where she was valedictorian of her class. She had worked at Manhattan Shirt Company and retired from Edgewood Apparel. She was the last living charter member of Floyd Baptist Church where she was active in the choir and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was active with the quilters group at the church. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Davis in 1967, a grandson, Ian Michael Davis, a sister, Dallas Floyd, a brother, Dolan Floyd and infant twin brothers. Mrs. Davis is survived by a son, Jerry Randy Davis of Lexington, three daughters, Janice Davis-Patella of Mocksville, Jean Bates of Greensboro and Janie Davis of the home, a brother, Alva Floyd of the home and sister, Margie Misenheimer of Lexington, one grandchild, Elka Marie Davis of Denton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 506 Alexander Avenue, Durham, NC 27705.
