D. T. Scarborough Jr.

D. T. Scarborough, 86, of Sutton Place, Candor died Monday April 17, 2006 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Page Memorial UMC in Biscoe. Conducted by Rev. Jay Bissett and Rev. David Beck. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery in Mt. Gilead. Mr. Scarborough was born September 24, 1919 in Montgomery County to D. T. Scarborough Sr. and Maggie Moore Scarborough. He was a member of Page Memorial UMC where he taught Sunday school for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served WW II in the 945th Field Artillery Battilion. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Masonic Lodge. He was a former Montgomery County Commissioner. He was currently serving on the Candor Town Board of Commissioners. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Page Sutton Scarborough. Survivors include his sons Jack P. Scarborough and wife Sondra A. of Raeford and D. Talmadge Scarborough III and wife Donna B. of Southern Pines. Grandson Thomas Dewitt Scarborough and Great Granddaughter Lorena Faith Scarborough. The family will see friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home. Memorials maybe made to Page Memorial UMC, 203 Church St., Biscoe NC, 27209
