Cynthia Ann Morton passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Moore Regional Hospital at Pinehurst, NC. A private family viewing will be Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Briggs Funeral home in Troy, N.C. Due to Covid 19, please practice social distancing and wear a mask. Cynthia was born in Randolph County, N.C. on October 3, 1954 to Wayne and Martha Herron Morton. Cynthia attended West Montgomery High School and Stanly Community college in Albemarle to get her GED, which she was very proud of. Cynthia worked in the textile industry for 20 years with Collins and Aikman in Troy, NC. Cynthia enjoyed camping at the campground in Derby. And camping at the beach at Topsail Island. She enjoyed all her dogs that were her babies, especially Bella, who already misses her mama. Cynthia loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed making jewelry and giving it away. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Lee Morton and her daughter, Martha Ellen Morton Thompson, her granddaughter Tiffney Thompson, and nephew Derek LeRoy Parnell. She is survived by her long time partner, then husband Ricky Hurley; her sister Ruby (Edgar) Parnell; granddaughter Cecily Morton (Sheena) ,Step grandson Marshall Hurley, Niece Casey Parnell and three great nieces Aubrey, Carley and Josie Sedberry, Step-daughter Crystal Hurley She is survived also by her precious two greatgrandsons, Brantley Voncannon and Kingston Thurston. Briggs Funeral Home in Troy is in charge of arrangements.
