In loving memory of Curtis Lane Covington, October 25, 1931 – November 9, 2024. Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Sardis UMC Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends from 1:30 – 2:00 PM prior to the service on Thursday at the cemetery.
Curtis was born and raised in Richmond County. He married Belle Robinson in March 1951. He worked for Sandhill Research Station in Windblow for 30 years. After retirement, he started woodworking, making bowls and furniture. He loved gardening, and tending to his vegetables. He loved bird watching, humming birds were his favorite.
Curtis is survived by son, Lane Covington; daughter, Mara Leigh Fiskin (Michael); 2 granddaughters; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Shirley Blake and Victoria Ochtyun (John) and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Belle in December, 2021; brothers, Alton Covington, Oswald Covington; sisters, Josephine Russell, Ardele Reynolds, and Virginia Burroughs.
Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
