Cozette Haywood Greene

Cozette Haywood Greene, 85, of Loving Hill Rd., Candor, died Thursday, June 29, 2023 at her residence. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 3, 2023 at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating. Burial will follow in the Candor Cemetery. Born in Montgomery County on December 17, 1937, she was the daughter of Jonah and Mildred Mauldin Haywood. She had worked in the furniture manufacturing industry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Greene, a daughter, Sandrell Ashworth, and a sister, Shirley Dorsett. Mrs. Greene is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Parsons of the home; brothers, Ernest Haywood (Rosa) and James Haywood, both of Troy; sister, Naomi Stutts (Herman) of Ellerbe; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM prior to the service on Monday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home. Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
