Cora Boone

Ms. Cora Hilliard Boone, 90, of Denton passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at Thomasville Medical Center. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 pm at Briggs Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Moses and Rev. Wayne Lang presiding. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Ms. Boone was born October 4, 1927 in Stanly County to June Hilliard and Minnie Doby Hilliard. Cora retired from Burlington Industries and was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Boone; brothers, Ernest Hilliard and Robert Doby; and sister, Myrtle Lang. She is survived by daughter, Angie Grubb and husband Dale of Denton; son, Joseph Boone, Jr. of Denton; 2 grandchildren, Wesley Grubb and wife Sara of Gastonia and Brittney Grubb of Charlotte.
