Colleen Gravely

Mrs. Colleen Smith Gravely age 85, of Volunteer Rescue Rd., Denton passed away Friday, May 06, 2016 at her residence. A funeral service will be held 5:00 pm Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Elder Wayne Gravely. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Colleen was born June 20, 1930 in Davidson County to Wade Smith and Sula Morris Smith. She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and had worked for Thornton Hosiery Mill and Burlington Industries. In addition to her parents Colleen was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gravely and a brother, James “Cotton” Smith. Surviving is, sons, Wayne Gravely and wife Ann of Denton and James “Jim” Gravely and wife Donna of Xenia, OH; sister, Doris Flynt of Lexington; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00pm prior to the service at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
