Clyde Jarrell

  Mr. Clyde Wayne Jarrell, age 78 of Lexington, NC (Silver Valley Community) died Tuesday, January 15 at his residence surrounded by loved ones   A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, January 19 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church on Old Highway # 64, Lexington, conducted by Rev. Bradley D Treece. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.   The family will see friends at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church from 12:30 until 2:30 Saturday, January 19 and at other times at the residence.   Mr. Jarrell was born September 4, 1940 to Troy Jarrell and Esther Arnold Jarrell. He worked for many years in the family business, Jarrell’s Grocery and retired as a Butcher at Lowes Super Market. He last worked at Sav-A-Lot. He was a founding member of the Silver Valley Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Silver Valley Civitan Club where he had been active in the Operation Santa Claus for many years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and other sporting events on television. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother J. E. Jarrell and a sister Virginia Barnes.   He is survived by his wife, Carol Harrison Jarrell of the home; a son, Chris Jarrell and wife Michel of Lexington; a daughter, Monica Crane and husband Dana of Gainesville, Virginia; a sister Marie Eddinger and husband Rayvon of Lexington; grandchildren, Danielle Crane, Nathan Crane, Carly Jarrell, and Laci Jarrell; step grandchildren, Jenna Sobray and Jake Crane; 4 step great grandchildren   Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church c/o Charlie Hall, 186 Underwood Drive, Thomasville, NC 27360   Briggs Funeral Home is serving the Jarrell Family.
