Clifton Lee Hughes, 73, formerly of Hulin McDowell Rd., Denton, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Meridian Center in High Point. Born in Davidson County on February 6, 1951, to Clifford L. Hughes and Jacquline Elizabeth Tucker Hughes..

As a child, Clifton attended the Children’s Center until the age of 18, after which he transitioned to attending the Workshop of Davidson County. Clifton was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford L. Hughes and Jacqueline Elizabeth Tucker Hughes. Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Wana Hulin, his nephews, Wesley Hulin and Kason Hulin, along with many special friends who will miss him dearly.

A funeral service for Clifton will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 17, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steven Nance officiating. Interment will follow at Clarksbury Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Meridian Center in High Point for the care and kindness shown to Clifton.
