Rev. Clifford Gilbert Jordan, 91, of Valley View Church Rd., Mt. Gilead, died Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at his residence. Graveside Service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Candor Cemetery, with Revs. Johnny Lamonds, Todd Roseman and Preacher C.J. Prater officiating.
Born in Montgomery County on November 12, 1932, he was the son of Chester Baxter and Martha Evelyn Crow Jordan. He was a conservative, of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the US Navy, serving during the Korean War. Clifford was the founder of the Crossing Jordan Ministries and a Baptist Preacher for over 60 years. He loved the Lord and wanted a great movement for America through his tent revivals. He has been someone’s pastor and teacher and learned God’s love from the best. He is someone’s dad and someone’s son and he has the privilege to be called brother, teacher, pastor, dad and grandfather, but most of all he is kind. His love for Jesus and helping lead souls to Christ is the passion he always holds. He was known to be a loving and wonderful daddy and a loyal Washington Redskins fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Waterfield Jordan in 2003.
Rev. Jordan is survived by 3 daughters, Vicky Jordan of Mt. Gilead, Rhonda Dempsey (Samuel) of Prospect KY, and Brenda Harris (Eddie) of Denton; 6 Grandchildren, Jessica McLendon, Logan Jordan, Kayla Hinson, Samantha Dempsey, Jordan Dempsey, and Hali Jordan; 5 Great-grandchildren, Macie McLendon, Laina McLendon, Paisley McLendon, Emersyn McLendon and Brodie Vance.
Clifford will be forever missed.
