Cletus Ray Tysinger, age 72, of Denton died Tuesday, March 3 at his home following a brief illness. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Cid United Methodist Church with Rev. Sandy Young and Rev. Doug Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Briggs Funeral home in Denton. Mr. Tysinger was born February 21, 1943 in Davidson County to Oscar P. and Virgie Savannah Hill Tysinger. He was a member of Cid United Methodist Church where he was an active member of the Methodist Men. He had worked at Lank of Lexington and Councill Craftsman. Following his retirement he drove the Mountain Vista Health Park van for several years, carrying patients to doctor appointments. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, loved to play golf and, in his younger years, loved to play slow-pitch softball. He served in the Army National Guard for several years. He was a faithful husband to his wife of 46 years, Ruby Ligon Tysinger, who died February 10, 2015. He was also preceded in death by brother William " Bill" Tysinger and sister Edith T. Hedrick. Mr. Tysinger is survived by one brother, Robert “Bobby” Tysinger and wife Frances of Denton, numerous nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Joyce Tysinger of Denton and his extended brother and sister-in-laws of the Ligon family Memorials may be made to Cid United Methodist Church, c/o Rondal Cross, 482 John Wright Road, Lexington, NC 27292
