Claude Risdon Thompson

Claude Risdon Thompson, 88, of Biscoe, died Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at his residence.  Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, with Rev. Mike Greene and Rev. Chuck Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Candor Cemetery.

Born in Montgomery County on June 30, 1935, the son of Risdon Webster and Ariel Mae Cole Thompson.  He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and a member of the Biscoe Masonic Lodge.  He was a truck driver, primarily local and along the east coast of the USA, driving millions of miles and a veteran of the US Army.  He was also a chicken farmer who loved his family, loved to fish, eat and laugh.  Claude was a hardworking man and a very giving person. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Byrd Thompson in November, 2017.

He is survived by 4 sons, Rev. Chuck Thompson (Debbie) of Apex, Donnie Thomspon (Sharon) of Candor, Barry Thompson (Kim) of Candor, Eric Thompson (Heather) of Wilmington; sister, JoAnn Greene (Cecil) of Biscoe; brother, Hugh Thompson (Diane) of Myrtle Beach SC; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 PM prior to the service on Sunday at Cornerstone Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church of Biscoe, 303 Lambert Rd., Biscoe NC  27209
