Christine Lee Powers

Christine “Chris” Lee Bizub Powers, 66, of Graham Rd., Candor, died Wednesday, June28, 2017 at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care House in Pinehurst. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, with Rev. Michael Free officiating. Born in Rochester NY on April 13, 1951, she was the daughter of Richard and Eleanor Dight Bizub. Chris was a dedicated servant for her Lord and served as the camp cook for Living Water Christian Camp for 30 years. It was her gift and she loved being a part of that ministry. She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Powers of the home; 3 sons, Jeremy Powers of Vass, Jamie Powers of Candor, and Dustin Powers of Candor; daughter, Carrie Tavarez of Whispering Pines; brother, Dale Bizub of Turtle Creek PA; 3 sisters, Penny Stiokas of Sodus NY, Laurie Bizub of Wilmerding PA and Mary Bizub of Rochester NY; 4 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Living Waters Christian Camp, 523 Tabernacle Church Rd., Candor NC 27229. Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
