Mr. Charlie Gray Shaw, 77, a resident of New Hope Rd., Denton passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wed., July 25 at New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Lorton, Rev. J. Harold Hammond, and Rev. Joe Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
Mr. Shaw was born in Randolph County on October 28, 1940 to William Penn Shaw and Gennie Sanders Shaw. He was a graduate of Farmer High School and a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. He had worked for Eveready and Energizer in Asheboro and following his retirement he and “Dot” started a greenhouse business in the New Hope Community for the past 9 years. Charlie loved to fish, hunt, and to just be outside. In addition to his parents Charlie was also preceded in death by daughter, Ellawese Shaw
Surviving is, wife; Dorothy “Dot” Russell Shaw of the home; daughter, Charlene Shaw Taylor of Denton; granddaughter, Natasha Taylor Rummage and husband Chad of Denton; brother, Rex Shaw of Denton
