Charles Poist, Sr.

Mr. Charles Edward Poist, Sr. age 74 of Surratt Rd., Denton died Sunday, May 04, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 7, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Kelly Creekmur. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Poist was born August 10, 1939 in Harford County, Maryland to Wilber Poist and Myrtle Ratcliff Poist. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1957-1961. He was a member of Pleasant Grove UMC and retired from Cascade Diecast after 28 years of perfect attendance service to the company.  He was an avid gardener. Surviving are, wife; Beverly Surratt Poist of the home, son; Charles Edward Poist, Jr. of Denton, daughters; Angie P. Loftin and husband Greg of Denton and Beth P. Russell and husband Drake of Denton brother; Kenny Poist of MD., sisters; Rosemary Kell of MD., Darlene Whiteman of MD., and Donna Dalton of High Point, grandchildren; Jonathan Loftin, Blair Russell, and Sara Beth Loftin. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
