Mr. Charles Ray Hinson, age 82 of Edgewood Terrace, West End, NC died Friday, July 26 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 29 at West End United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Won S. Namkoong. Masonic graveside service will follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor and other times at the residence on Edgewood Terrace, West End. Mr. Hinson was born November 2, 1930 in Stanly County to James Hinson and Etta Comer Hinson. He was a retired self-employed carpenter and was a U S Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, a member of West End United Methodist Church and of Alberta Lodge # 454 AF & AM. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Kimberly Dawn Bowles. He is survived by his wife, Betty Reynolds Hinson of the home, a son, Timothy R. Hinson of West End, a daughter Cynthia Dixon and husband Steve of Kinston; brothers Hubert Hinson of Jackson Springs and Phillip Hinson of Rockingham; sister, Alene Reeder of Seagrove; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
