Nancy Carolyn Haywood Hamilton, of Research Farm Road, Candor, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by family on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the age of 76.
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Wednesday, June 4, at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Norman Cemetery, with Reverend Jimmy Shirlen officiating.
Born in Moore County on Christmas Day, 1948, she was the daughter of C.B. and Nell Morgan Haywood. She loved her family and became a full-time Grammie after being the activities director at Autumn Care of Biscoe for over 15 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Dean Hamilton in 2018, her parents, a brother, Roger Haywood, and sister, Kathleen Haywood.
She is survived by a son, Brian Keith Hamilton (Jessica) of Jackson Springs; 3 daughters, Beth Hamilton Walker (Mike) of Seven Lakes, Gaynell Hamilton Greene (Dwayne) of Rockingham, and Jan Hamilton Lanier (Chris) of Mt. Gilead; 5 sisters, Janice Hancock (John) of Asheboro, Eva Pritchard (Lawrence) of Eagle Springs, Delbra Mabe (Mike) of Ellerbe, Judy Kinlaw of Seven Lakes, and Tamala Frye (John) of Whispering Pines; 8 Grandchildren, Nicholas Lanier (Raegan), Mackenzie Walker Steele (Cody), Brianna Hamilton (Holden), Clayton Walker (Kylie), Abigail Hamilton (Anthony), Caleb Lanier, Collin Walker, and Garrett Hamilton; 3 Great-grandchildren, Lainey Lanier, Emery Reynolds, and Colson Steele.
