Carolyn Hogan Brown

Della “Carolyn” Hogan Brown, 79, of Lou Cranford Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, Jan. 4, at New Hope Methodist Church with Rev. Denny Gray and Rev. Bobby Lorton officiating.  A private inurnment will be held at later date at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery.

Carolyn was born on November 3, 1945, in Davidson County to Reese and Sarah “Polly” Stafford Hogan. She retired from Erwin Lambeth where she had worked in the accounting department. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Harold Hogan, Larry Hogan, David Hogan and Danny Hogan; brother-in-law, Jim Wilson; and sister-in-law, Beverly Hogan.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Wylie Brown; daughter, Susan Cagle (Tim); son, Robert Brown (Lorie); grandchildren, Corey Cagle (Amy), Eli Cagle, Luisa Encabo, Reid Cagle, Savannah Brown, Addison Brown, Alexander Brown; great-grandchildren, Emily Cagle and Tanner Cagle; sister, Kathy Wilson; brother, Tommy Hogan (Angie); sisters-in-law’s, Betty Hogan, Olga Hogan, Ruth Hogan, honorary sister, Betty Matthews along with nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and numerous cousins.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to caregivers, Kandace Eubanks, Debbie Garner, and Wendy Widener who helped the family tremendously during this journey along with Amedisys Hospice especially Cindy and April.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at New Hope Methodist Church and other times at the residence on Lou Cranford Rd.
