Carol Ward Williams

Carol Ward Williams, 90, of Denton, NC was accepted into the arms of Jesus from her home on January 8th, 2026.

Carol was born December 30th, 1935 to Wade and Elva Ward in Randolph County, NC.

If you ever had the opportunity to visit Carol in her home, you most certainly were offered a glass bottled Coca-Cola. And we are certain she is now sharing a Coca-Cola with Jesus, and all the ones she loved that made it to heaven before she did.

Carol was a member of First Baptist Church in Denton where she served many years in the nursery. Carol was a retired deputy sheriff of Davidson County where she served for 16 years and was a trailblazer for female deputies in Davidson County.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Bobby Dean Williams. And parents Wade and Elva Ward.

Carol will be missed dearly by her family which includes sons, Robert Dean Williams, PA-C, Emeritus, and wife Rachel Long Williams of Salisbury, Perry Ward Williams, LTC (Ret) and wife Fariba Armani of Alexandra, Va. and Kendel Neil Williams, PharmD and wife Therese Williams of Denton; a daughter, Dr. Carri Williams Hampton and husband Bryant of Asheboro; grandchildren, Lyndsey McLean, and husband Justin, Malorie Fisher, Nina Williams, Alex Williams, Rachel Willams, Matthew Williams, Amber Hampton and Alyssa Hampton; great grandchildren, Reagyn Cabanillas, Ivan Fisher and, Tucker Fisher; step grandchildren, Jessica Shoup, Elizabeth Dorroh and Angelica Moysan; step great grandchildren ,Coleman Dorroh, Charley Dorroh, Ryleigh Shoup and Kayleigh Shoup. Brother and Sister in law, John Harris Ward and Janet Goins Ward.

Carol was also survived by her cat, Libby Sue, who lived a lavish life being loved by Carol.

Carol could not have had a better group of ladies, and men, who cared for her in her final years. These people made it possible for her to stay home and the family is so grateful for them. Kayla Surratt, Wendy McKinney, Misty Bullard, Gabi Jimenez, Alice Martin, Autumn Duba, Chris Murphy, Christie Smith, Mark Limbers, Linda Smith and all the honorary caretakers that stepped in, thank you for being extra family to Carol.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 18, First Baptist Church at 3:00 PM with Rev. Vern Peterson and Rev. Dr. Arnetta Beverly officiating. Interment will follow at Canaan Global Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 until 2:45 PM prior to the service.
