Carol Gallimore Masten, 77, of Gallimore Rd., Ellerbe, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at FirstHealth Hospice House. Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2018 at Jackson Springs Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Elizabeth Forester officiating. Burial will follow in the Candor Cemetery. Born October 3, 1941, in Richmond County, she was the daughter of David Perry and Lillian Blake Gallimore. A member of Jackson Springs Presbyterian Church, she was a former session member and a member of the Presbyterian Women. She was employed as a merchandising manager with JC Penney, attended Candor High School, Pfeiffer College, and was an accomplished decorator. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, William Carl Gallimore and Perry Pratt Gallimore. She is survived by her husband, Samuel C. Masten, Jr. of the home; son, Randall Deaton of Oak Island NC; grandson, Jesse Page of Pinehurst; 5 nieces, Lisa Vincer of Charlotte, Lori Greene of Troy, Cathy Harrell of Statesville, Joan Gallimore of Grifton NC, and Carla Mumford of Sims NC. The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:45 PM Friday prior to the service at Jackson Springs Presbyterian Church, and other times at the residence on Gallimore Rd.
